Thriller for Wildcats!
THE WILDCATS won their season opener at Manteno Friday night with last-minute touchdown and two-point conversion to for the game into overtime. The Free Press videotaped the key two-point conversion scored by Jeremy Bailey to tie the game. After Bailey scored a 10-yard touchdown and two-point conversion run in overtime to go up 23-15, all the Wildcats had to do was to prevent the Panthers for scoring twice. They had to flip the coin twice Friday night at Manteno and it's a good thing for the Wildcats they did.

Lady Cats defeat rival Coalers in two
Rivals Coal City and Wilmington battled it out last night on the Lady Cats' volleyball court when one team stayed in front throughout the night.
