Dylan Pierard

FLORIDA—Dylan Pierard, 25, of Boca Raton, FL and formerly of Diamond, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 9, 2020. Born Jan. 27, 1995 in Morris, Dylan Jacob was a son of Tracey and Sheri (Benson) Pierard. He was raised in Coal City, where he participated in local football and wrestling, and went on to graduate from Coal City High School with the class of 2013. A fan of the Chicago White Sox, Dylan loved the ocean and his hobby of surfing. He cherished his dog, Skylar, but it was only second to his niece and nephew, who he adored, Dylan will be remembered as the life of the party, and was truly a great kid with a huge heart. When he loved, he loved. Dylan leaves behind the free spirited mantra, You Only Live Once (YOLO). Survivors include his parents, Tracey and Sheri Pierard, of Diamond; brother, Kyle Pierard (Melissa Gilbertson) of Coal City; the love of his life, Taylor Porterfield and her son, Ryder; niece and nephew, Tessa and Jace Pierard; grandparents: Tom and Sarah Sayers, of Carbon Hill and Donna Benson and Margaret Pierard, both of Diamond; great-grandparents: Patricia Sayers, of Carbon Hill and Mattie Arnold, of Oakfield, TN; aunts and uncles: Dan and Stacey Rodgers, of Carbon Hill; Keith and Stacy Benson, of Coal City; Bill and Marcie Miller, of Colorado Springs, CO and Paul Pierard, of Coal City, and numerous cousins and friends. Dylan was preceded in death by his grandfathers: George Keith Benson and David Pierard, and great-grandparents including, Marguerite Smith. Cremation rites have been accorded The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 N. Broadway, one block north of IL Route 113 in Coal City. Due to current pandemic guidelines, face masks will be required for attendees and measures of safe social distancing practices will be in order. Funeral home staff will assist the family not to exceed the safe number set forth for the visitation. A private family memorial will be held following the visitation. Those wishing to participate in the services remotely are welcome to log on to the live stream webcast available on Dylan's Memorial Page, which will begin Saturday, July 11 at 1 p.m. Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Dylan’s memory to Help for Hope, 100 S.
