After pitching half the season with the Cincinnati Reds, former Wilmington High School standout Tanner Roark has been traded to the Oakland A’s for a minor league prospect.
Tanner was optioned to Oakland for Jameson Hannah, an outfielder. With that, the Reds agreed to send Oakland $2.1 million to offset much of the $3,225,806 remaining in Roark’s $10 million salary.
Roark has a 6-7 record so far for 2019 with a 4.24 ERA and looks to add to the Oakland rotation that features Mike Fiers, Brett Anderson, Chris Bassitt, Daniel Mengdon and Homer Bailey.
