While law-abiding residents are staying home during the COVID-19 pandemic, it appears even criminals are following the mandate too.
In the last two months, from Feb. 25 to April 22, arrests in Braidwood have gone down 35% from last year at the same time.
“I think people are respecting the (stay-at-home order) and we’re not really having any issues,” said Braidwood Police Chief Todd Lyons.
In the same time frame, traffic stops were down by 50% and calls for service dropped by 1.3 calls per day.
